The year 2012. When said that way it sounds futuristic doesn’t it? How much different, then we expected it to be, is it? No flying cars. Buildings pretty much look the same. Clothing certainly looks the same with no bright colored spandex jump suits or silver reflective outfits -- unless you are staring in a superhero movie or Lady Gaga. In space we still have not exceeded our 1969 landing on the Moon and the International Space Station certainly does not look anything like the magnificent double-wheel space station from the movie ‘2001 A Space Odyssey’ -- all disappointing.

For all these disappointments there still are advances. Flat screen TV is a reality. We carry around pocket computers (we call them iPhones or Android Phones), and the Internet is fast approaching what can only be considered a universal brain containing most of human knowledge and finding answers to questions we never knew to ask. In fact we are at the very edge of a tipping point that will probably play itself out over the next 10 years when information science and the collective knowledge of humanity will take on a life of its own; actively creating our next steps into the future. Like the final moments just before the Big Bang of the Universe’s creation we stand on the precipice of not only a new era but a new reality that will change who and what we are.

I am so thrilled to have been part of this awakening and to be here when it happens.
